Running Linux on your mobile phone hack
In this hack I use a mobile phone to run a Linux system called DSL. Which is essence means that one could use phone as server… Hence we can build web 3.0 on a network of phones. Limbo is the app to use to install Linux on your phone without the need to root the phone.

Solar Phone Charger hack
I bought a very cheap solar charger and it turn out that the battery was of a very low quality and the charger could not actually charge a phone, so I upgraded the battery and all is well in the world of sun power.
Solar Radio Hack
The problem with this cheap solar radio is that the antenna was too short therefor creation a bad reception, so I soldered an extension to the antenna, and then decided to also put an external speak to increase the sound.
Sim card Hack
Sim cards are practically free, what many people don’t know is that you can use a spare sim card as a back up for your phone numbers. Simply copy the numbers from the phone to a sim card and put the sim card aside for the time when you need it. You can even store email contacts and physical addresses on your sim.
Raspberry PI hack
Many argue that at 25 dollars the raspberry pi is the cheapest computer on the market. A common mistake is thinking the the raspberry pi is a computer. The PI is a motherboard and needs peripheral devices for it to work driving up the cost exponentially. Well I do not own any HD screen that is needed for the PI so I simple adapted it to work on an old black and white meccer VGA.
I love the system, as it reminds me no matter how small the world makes you feel, you can always be packed with power.
The Onion Hack
While many hacks kinda come about through trial and error, there is a scientific method to how trials are conducted and the right mindset to deal with error. In this hack I simply cut an onion in half, added some H2O and there we have some useful ingredient for salads . Even if you do not like onions I would still suggest that you use the onion browser to navigate the waves of the internet.
Portable Speaker Hack
Life in Africa can be very depressing, and even though there is a hack for depression , sometimes one needs a little music. Most of us listen to music on our phones. With this hack, I connect phone to portable speaker powered by USB power bank, just so I can have more sound to drown out the negative voices of truth in my head.
Swimming Pool Hack
A friend asked me if I could come up with a hack, that could help him save water on his swimming pool. So I suggested he use a wheelie bin to catch the back wash water and waste water. I fitted a tap to the bottom of the wheelie bin above sediment level. So when he back washes his pool or runs his waste it collects in the bin. He lets the water sit in the bin for an hour till all the waste sediment sinks to the bottom, then simply opens the tap and the water is returned to the pool .
He also uses the bin to collect rain water to top up pool water level. Of course as is expected with friends and family any hacks I provide for them I don’t expect compensation and while they know I am unemployed they never compensate.
Wireless Mouse Tablet hack
Having built my tablet stand I decided that it would be good to be able to control tablet using a wireless mouse. I simply used a USB to micro USB adapter to connect wireless mouse to tablet. The red part shows the cursor. So during the many power cuts I watch movies on tablet and at the same time keep tablet screen clean.
